“STAINS” ON CHEEKS AND TEMPLES- easy, affordable treatment

As we grow older, unfortunately for most of us, unless we have naturally very dark skin, are prone to develop dark marks on our cheeks in front of the ears and on the temples.

This is where the ultra-violet rays strike the face year in, year out, against the underlying bony prominences.

The marks are just flat, with no bumpiness, just vague with no clear edge and at first hardly noticeable, just beige .At this stage they are easily camouflaged with foundation or concealer. However as time passes they become more noticeable and resemble tea stains, just like someone has left a tea bag lying on a worktop!

They are harmless, just pigmentary changes in the epidermis (the top layer of the skin), related to age (solar lentignes). Only very rarely, with the passage of many years, can they progress to a more sinister condition.

Although they are just a cosmetic nuisance, a lot of people, men and women, dislike the look of them, and find them ageing.

They can be lessened with Peels, Dermaroller and DiamondTome skin resurfacing, treatments all offered at the Erme Clinic, but the ace way of getting rid of these unsightly blemishes completely is by radio-frequency surgery .The area is anaesthetised with local anaesthetic, similar to the dentist, and then by passing the radiofrequency instrument accurately and effortlessly across the lesions the top layer of pigmented skin is lifted off.

Patients are amazed that immediately afterwards the blemish is gone! There is just a faint red mark that heals like a graze over the next couple of weeks or so.
